StayReady exists because independent STR hosts deserved a real operations platform — not a spreadsheet, not an enterprise tool priced for property managers.
The problem we kept seeing
There are over 1.5 million independent Airbnb and VRBO hosts in the US managing their properties without a property manager. They're running 1, 3, maybe 8 units — often alongside a day job or as a growing side income.
The tools available to them fell into two camps: consumer apps too basic to run a real operation, or enterprise platforms built for companies managing 50+ units at prices to match.
So most independent hosts were doing what people do when the right tool doesn't exist — they improvised. Cleaning schedules in group texts. Supply lists on Post-its. Profitability tracked in a spreadsheet nobody updated consistently. Maintenance issues caught by angry guests, not proactive inspection.
It worked until it didn't. And it definitely didn't scale.
What we set out to build
StayReady is an operations platform designed specifically for the independent host. Not watered-down software. Not a spreadsheet template with a nice skin. A real system for running a short-term rental operation — cleanly, profitably, without burning out.
That means cleaning schedules that sync with your booking calendar. Turnover checklists your cleaner actually uses. Supply tracking with par levels so you stop making emergency Target runs. Maintenance alerts before guests become your inspection team. And profitability dashboards that show you what your properties are actually making — not just what Airbnb deposited.
